S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 What! Upon him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed from on high?" Nay, but it is My Own reminder that they distrust! Nay, they have not yet tasted the suffering which I do impose! 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
