88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
