S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Nay, but the unbelievers are steeped in arrogance and stubborn defiance. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say: This is an enchanter, a liar. 4 Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing." 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 A very host of parties is routed there! 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
