S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad, and by the Qur'an full of exhortation! 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
