S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 nay, but the unbelievers glory in their schism. 2 How many a nation did We destroy before them! (When they approached their doom) they cried out (for deliverance), but the time for deliverance was already past. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
