S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 Even before them the people of Noah, 'Ad, the mighty Pharoah, 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
