S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a nation did We destroy before them! (When they approached their doom) they cried out (for deliverance), but the time for deliverance was already past. 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We never heard of it in the former faith. It is surely a fabrication. 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access. 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
