And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 This is a Book which We have sent down upon you, a blessed Book, for them to ponder upon its verses, and for men of intellect to accept advice. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 When there were shown to him at eventide lightfooted coursers 31 He said: verily I have loved the love of earthly good above the remembrance of my Lord until the sun hath disappeared behind the veil. 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 And assuredly We tried Sulaiman, and set upon his throne a mere body. Thereafter he was penitent. 34 Saying: "O Lord, forgive me, and give me such a dominion as none will merit after me. You are the great bestower." 35 And so We made subservient to him the wind, so that it gently sped at his behest whithersoever he willed, 36 and the satans, every builder and diver 37 And other demons bound in chains. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
