And We have not created the heaven and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve from the Fire. 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 A Book We have sent down to thee, Blessed, that men possessed of minds may ponder its signs and so remember. 29 And We bestowed on David, Solomon. How excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah). 30 Recall what time there were presented unto him, at eventide, coursers swift-footed. 31 He said: "The love of horses is worthy of desire to me for the remembrance of my Lord;" and when they were out of sight, (he said): 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And, indeed We did try Sulaiman (Solomon) and We placed on his throne Jasadan (a devil, so he lost his kingdom for a while) but he did return (to his throne and kingdom by the Grace of Allah and he did return) to Allah with obedience and in repentance. 34 He said: My Lord! Forgive me and bestow on me sovereignty such as shall not belong to any after me. Lo! Thou art the Bestower. 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient), 37 And other demons bound in chains. 38 “This is Our bestowal – you may therefore bestow favours or withhold them – you will not be questioned.” 39 His reward will be nearness to Us, a good place to return to. 40
