And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 We have sent down a Book to you which is blessed, so that people may apply their minds to its revelations, and the men of wisdom may reflect. 29 And We bestowed Sulaiman to Dawud; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 30 When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening, 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 Return them to me!' And he began to stroke their shanks and necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,- 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 and others joined together by (iron) fetters. 38 "This is Our gift," (We said to him), "so bestow freely or withhold without reckoning." 39 And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. 40
