Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When they brought fleet-footed chargers in the evening to show him, 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 We tested Solomon by (causing death to his son) and leaving his body on Solomon's chair. Then he turned to Us in repentance, 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,- 36 and the Satans, every builder and diver 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 'This is Our gift; bestow or withhold without reckoning.' 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
