Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 And We gave to him his family, and the like of them with them, as a mercy from us, and a reminder unto men possessed of minds; 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 They shall say: Our Lord! whoever prepared it first for us, add Thou to him a double chastisement in the fire. 61 And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
