Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them; 50 wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions, 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
