And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions, 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or are they here, and our eyes have missed them?" 63 Surely that is true the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire 64
