Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember thou Our bondmen, Ibrahim and Is-haq and Ya'qub, owners of might and insight. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are open to them, 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other torments, like thereof, conjoined. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
