Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And remember thou Our bondmen, Ibrahim and Is-haq and Ya'qub, owners of might and insight. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
