And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 We restored to him his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 'Adn (Edn) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be open for them, [It is said (in Tafsir At-Tabari, Part 23, Page 174) that one can speak to the doors, just one tells it to open and close, and it will open or close as it is ordered]. 50 wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
