Remember also Our servant Job; when he called to his Lord, 'Behold, Satan has visited me with weariness and chastisement.' 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 But why is it that we cannot see men whom we had considered as wicked 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
