And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing, i.e.) the remembrance of the home [in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it, and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter]. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 adding, "Our Lord, give double punishment to those who brought this upon us." 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
