And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 adding, "Our Lord, give double punishment to those who brought this upon us." 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
