And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave to him his family, and the like of them with them, as a mercy from us, and a reminder unto men possessed of minds; 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our votaries Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, men of power and insight. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ismail and Yasa’a (Elisha) and Zul-Kifl; and they are all excellent. 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 Hell, where they will be roasted. An evil place to dwell! 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
