And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 And most surely they were with Us, of the elect, the best. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. 52 This it is that ye are promised for the Day of Reckoning. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! Whoever brought this upon us, add to him a double torment in the Fire!" 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
