And make mention (O Muhammad) of Our bondman Job, when he cried unto his Lord (saying): Lo! the devil doth afflict me with distress and torment. 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions, 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 There will be boiling water for them and cold, clammy, fetid drink to taste, 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people rushing headlong to join you?" "No welcome to them! Indeed, they are headed for the fire!" 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
