Say: I am only a warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all): 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, all-mighty, all-forgiving." 66 Say: "That (this Quran) is a great news, 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves. 69 It is revealed unto me only that I may be a plain warner. 70 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 except Iblis who puffed himself up with pride and became a disbeliever. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." 78 He said, “My Lord! Therefore give me respite till the day when all will be raised.” 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 Other than the chosen ones among Your creatures." 83 He said: The Truth is, and the Truth I speak, 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 and you will most certainly grasp its purport after a lapse of time!" 88
