Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 "From which you turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 Naught is revealed unto me except that I am a warner manifest. 70 [So mention] when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I am going to create a human being from clay. 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 The Lord said: “O Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I created of My Two Hands. Are you waxing proud, or fancy yourself to be too exalted?” 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 "And verily!, My Curse is on you till the Day of Recompense." 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 till the Day the time whereof is known [only to Me]." 81 [Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all 82 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 83 Said He, 'This is the truth, and the truth I say; 84 I will fill up Hell with you and every one of them who follows you." 85 Say: "I do not ask any compensation of you for it, nor am I a specious pretender. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
