Say: "I am only a warner, and there is no other god but God, the one, the omnipotent, 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 but you have turned away from it. 68 I had no knowledge of the Exalted Assembly when they argued [against the creation of man]: 69 “I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.” 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 “So when I have perfected him and breathed into him a spirit from Myself, (you all) fall down before him in prostration.” 72 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 73 Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." 76 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. 77 And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 (God) said: "You have the respite 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
