Say: 'I am only a warner. There is not any god but God, the One, the Omnipotent, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 Ye are therefrom averting. 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 had it not been revealed unto me [by God] - to no other end than that I might convey [unto you] a plain warning. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 all the angel then prostrated themselves 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 (Allah) said: "Then get out from here, for verily, you are outcast. 77 Upon you will be My damnation till the Day of Doom." 78 He said, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection". 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 83 He (Allah) said: 'This is the truth, and I speak the truth: 84 That I will fill Hell with you [Iblis (Satan)] and those of them (mankind) that follow you, together." 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 This is only a warning for mankind. 87 "And you shall certainly know the truth of it after a while. 88
