Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 yet you ignore it. 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 When thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay. 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 But not Iblis: he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers. 74 God said, "Satan, what prevented you from prostrating yourself to what I created with My own Hands? Were you overcome by arrogance, or are you of those who think [only] of themselves as exalted?" 75 He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 (Allah) said: "Verily! You are of those allowed respite 80 for an appointed time". 81 [Iblees] said, "By your might, I will surely mislead them all 82 Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. 83 He (Allah) said: 'This is the truth, and I speak the truth: 84 I shall certainly fill Gehenna with you and every one of them that follows you' 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 You will come to know its truth in time." 88
