Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 yet you ignore it. 68 I had no knowledge of the chiefs on high when they disputed; 69 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 save Iblis; he waxed proud, and was one of the unbelievers. 74 He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted? 75 He replied: “I am nobler than he. You created me from fire and created him from clay.” 76 He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.) 77 “And indeed My curse is upon you till the Day of Judgement.” 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 Till the period of the time made known. 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 except Your sincere servants among them". 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 “That I will fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all together.” 85 (Muhammad), say, "I do not ask any reward for my preaching to you for I am not a pretender. 86 this is simply an admonition to mankind, 87 “And you will come to know of its tidings, after a while.” 88
