(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say, "It is great news 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 I had no knowledge of the Exalted Assembly when they argued [against the creation of man]: 69 “I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.” 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 Except Iblis; he was proud and was, from the beginning, a disbeliever. 74 The Lord said: “O Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I created of My Two Hands. Are you waxing proud, or fancy yourself to be too exalted?” 75 Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!” 76 He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.) 77 And verily My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Requital, 78 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 79 Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.” 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He (satan) said: 'I swear by Your Might, that I will seduce all of them 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 It is but a reminder to the worlds. 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
