Is he whose breast God has expanded unto Islam, so he walks in a light from his Lord...? But woe to those whose hearts are hardened against the remembrance of God! Those are in manifest error. 22 God has sent down the best Message: a Scripture that is consimilar and oft-repeated: that causes the skins of those in awe of their Lord to creep. Then their skins and their hearts soften at the mention of God: such is God's guidance. He bestows it upon whoever He will; but no one can guide those whom God leaves to stray. 23 How woeful is the plight of him who has nothing except his face to shield him from severe chastisement on the Day of Resurrection? Such evil-doers shall be told: “Taste now the consequence of your deeds.” 24 Those before them had denied, then punishment had overtaken them is from a quarter they did not suspect. 25 so God let them taste degradation in this present life; and the chastisement of the world to come is assuredly greater, did they but know. 26 We have set forth to men all kinds of parables in this Quran so that they may take heed: 27 It is an Arabic Koran free from all crookedness, in order that they will be cautious. 28 Allah propoundeth a similitude: man having several partners, quarelling, and a man wholly belonging to one man. Are the two equal in likeness? All praise unto Allah. But most of them know not. 29 Yet, verily, thou art bound to die, [O Muhammad,] and verily, they, too, are bound to die: 30 and, then on the Day of Resurrection you shall place your dispute before your Sustainer. 31
