And said a Muslim man from the people of Firaun, who used to hide his faith, “What! You want to kill a man just because he says, ‘Allah is my Lord’ whereas he has indeed brought clear signs to you from your Lord? And supposedly if he is speaking wrongly, then the calamity of wrongful speech is upon him; and if he is truthful, then part of what he promises you will reach you; indeed Allah does not guide any transgressor, excessive liar.” 28 My people, today the kingdom is yours, and you are supreme in the land. But if Allah's chastisement were to come upon you, who will come to our help?” Pharaoh said: “I only counsel what I consider right; I only direct you to the Path of Rectitude.” 29 And he who believed said: O my people, verily I fear for you a fate like the day of the confederates. 30 Like the people of Noah, 'Ad and Thamud, and those that came after them. God does not want to be unjust to His creatures. 31 And, my nation, I fear for you the Day of Calling, 32 “A day when you will turn back fleeing; none can save you from Allah; and whomever Allah sends astray, there is no guide for him.” 33 Before this, Joseph brought you clear signs, but you continued to be doubtful of that which he brought. When he passed away you said: "Allah will never send another Messenger after him." As such Allah leads astray the sinner, the doubter. 34 Those who dispute regarding the signs of Allah without any proof having come to them; how very disgusting this is, in the sight of Allah and in the sight of the believers! This is how Allah seals the entire heart of every haughty, rebellious person. 35 Pharaoh said: "O Haman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means- 36 The roads of the heavens, and may look upon the god of Moses, though verily I think him a liar. Thus was the evil that he did made fairseeming unto Pharaoh, and he was debarred from the (right) way. The plot of Pharaoh ended but in ruin. 37
