At that, a believing man of Pharaoh's family, who [until then] had concealed his faith, exclaimed: "Would you slay a man because he says, 'God is my Sustainer' - seeing, withal, that he has brought you all evidence of this truth from your Sustainer? Now if he be a liar, his lie will fall back on him; but if he is a man of truth, something [of the punishment] whereof he warns you is bound to befall you: for, verily, God would not grace with His guidance one who has wasted his own self by lying [about Him]. 28 O My people! yours is the dominion today: ye being overcomers in the land; but who will succour us aginst the scourge of God if it cometh unto us! Fir'awn said: I shew you only that which I see, and I guide you but to the path of rectitude. 29 The believer said, "My people! I fear for you a fate like that of the people of old: 30 “Like the tradition of the people of Nooh, and Aad, and Thamud and others after them; and Allah does not will injustice upon bondmen.” 31 My people, I fear that you will encounter a day when there will be much wailing and you will cry out to one another for help, 32 "A Day when ye shall turn your backs and flee: No defender shall ye have from Allah: Any whom Allah leaves to stray, there is none to guide... 33 And assuredly there came unto you Yusuf aforetime with evidences, yet ye ceased not to be in doubt concerning that which he brought unto you, until when he died, ye said: God shall by no means raise an apostle after him. Thus Allah keepeth astray one who is extravagant and a doubter. 34 Those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without an authority having come to them - great is hatred [of them] in the sight of Allah and in the sight of those who have believed. Thus does Allah seal over every heart [belonging to] an arrogant tyrant. 35 The Pharaoh said: "O Haman, build me a lofty tower that I may perhaps find the means 36 the means of approach to the heavens - and that [thus] I may have a look at the god of Moses: for, behold, I am indeed certain that he is a liar!" And thus, goodly seemed unto Pharaoh the evil of his own doings, and so he was barred from the path [of truth]: and Pharaoh's guile did not lead to aught but ruin. 37
