And a believing man of Fir'awn's household, hiding his belief, said: would ye slay a man because he saith: my Lord is God, and hath come upto you with evidences from your Lord? If he is a liar, then upon him will be his lie, and if he is a truth-teller, then there will befall you some of that wherewith he threateneth you; verily God guideth not one who is an extravagant and a liar. 28 O My people! yours is the dominion today: ye being overcomers in the land; but who will succour us aginst the scourge of God if it cometh unto us! Fir'awn said: I shew you only that which I see, and I guide you but to the path of rectitude. 29 And the believer said, “O my people! I fear for you a day similar to that of the earlier groups!” 30 "Something like the fate of the People of Noah, the 'Ad, and the Thamud, and those who came after them: but Allah never wishes injustice to his Servants. 31 And, O my people! Lo! I fear for you a Day of Summoning, 32 The day you will turn your backs and flee, with none to defend you against God. Whoever God allows to go astray has none to show him the way. 33 Verily Joseph came to you with Clear Signs before, yet you continued to doubt his Message. Thereafter when he died, you said: 'Allah shall send no Messenger after him.'” Thus Allah leads astray those who transgress the limits and are given to much doubting; 34 those who contend regarding Allah's Signs without any evidence that might have come to them. That is exceedingly loathsome to Allah and to those that believe. Thus does Allah seal the heart of everyone who is proud and high-handed. 35 Pharaoh said: "O Haman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means- 36 "The ways of the heavens, and I may look upon the Ilah (God) of Musa (Moses) but verily, I think him to be a liar." Thus it was made fair-seeming, in Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the (Right) Path, and the plot of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) led to nothing but loss and destruction (for him). 37
