And he who believed said: O my people! follow me, I shall guide you to the path of rectitude, 38 O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter - that is the home of [permanent] settlement. 39 Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account. 40 ۞ And, O my people! what aileth me that I call you unto deliverance, while ye call me unto the Fire! 41 Ye call me for this, that I should blaspheme against God and associate with Him that whereof I have no knowledge, and I call you onto the Mighty, the Forgiver. 42 There is no doubt that what you call me to has neither a call in this world, nor in the Everlasting Life. To Allah we shall return, and the excessive sinners are the inhabitants of the Fire. 43 And ye will remember what I say unto you. I confide my cause unto Allah. Lo! Allah is Seer of (His) slaves. 44 Allah saved him from the evils that they devised, and an evil punishment encompassed Pharaoh's people. 45 The Fire! They are exposed thereto morning and evening. And on the Day whereon the Hour will uprise, it will be said: cause the family of Fir'awn to enter the most grievous torment. 46 And when they will quarrel amongst themselves in the fire, those who were weak will say to those who sought greatness, “We were your followers, so will you reduce from us some of the punishment of the fire?” 47 Those who were stiff-necked will say: verily we are all in it; verily Allah hath judged between His bondmen. 48 Those in the Fire will say to the warders of Hell: "Ask your Lord to reduce the punishment by a day for us." 49 They say: Came not your messengers unto you with clear proofs? They say: Yea, verily. They say: Then do ye pray, although the prayer of disbelievers is in vain. 50
