Then said he who believed, 'My people, follow me, and I will guide you in the way of rectitude. 38 My people, the life of this world is ephemeral, whereas the Hereafter, that is the permanent abode. 39 Whoever does an evil, he shall not be recompensed (with aught) but the like of it, and whoever does good, whether male or female, and he is a believer, these shall enter the garden, in which they shall be given sustenance without measure. 40 ۞ My nation, how is it that I call you to salvation and you call me to the Fire? 41 you call me to deny Allah and to associate with Him as His partners those regarding whom I have no knowledge (that they are Allah's partners in His Divinity), whereas I call you to the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving? 42 There is no doubt that those whom you call me to have no claim to be called upon in this world and in the Hereafter. Certainly to Allah shall be our return, and those who exceed the limits are destined to the Fire. 43 You will remember what I say to you. I commit my affair to God; surely God sees His servants.' 44 So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people. 45 The fire; they shall be brought before it (every) morning and evening and on the day when the hour shall come to pass: Make Firon's people enter the severest chastisement. 46 And when they will quarrel amongst themselves in the fire, those who were weak will say to those who sought greatness, “We were your followers, so will you reduce from us some of the punishment of the fire?” 47 Those who were proud shall say: Surely we are all in it: surely Allah has judged between the servants. 48 Those in the Fire will say to the warders of Hell: "Ask your Lord to reduce the punishment by a day for us." 49 They say: Came not your messengers unto you with clear proofs? They say: Yea, verily. They say: Then do ye pray, although the prayer of disbelievers is in vain. 50
