Did you not see those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah? Where are they being diverted? 69 Those who reject the Book and that with which We have sent Our Apostle; but they shall soon come to know, 70 when, with iron collars and chains around their necks, they are dragged 71 into the boiling water and then are thrown into the Fire, 72 Then shall it be said to them: Where is that which you used to set up 73 Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance). 74 "This is so because you went about exulting wrongfully in the land," (will they be told), "and you were insolent. 75 Enter the gates of Hell to abide therein, and (indeed) what an evil abode of the arrogant! 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
