Did you not see those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah? Where are they being diverted? 69 Those who denied the Book and what We sent with Our Noble Messengers; so they will soon come to know. – 70 When around their necks will be shackles and chains; they will be dragged. – 71 In boiling water; they will then be ignited* in the fire. (Like fuel – see verse 2:24) 72 It will then be asked of them: 'Where are those whom you associated, 73 other than Allah' They will reply: 'They have gone astray from us. Indeed what we used to call upon before is nothing' Accordingly, Allah leads the unbelievers astray. 74 "That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent. 75 "Enter ye the gates of Hell, to dwell therein: and evil is (this) abode of the arrogant!" 76 So be patient, (O Prophet). Surely Allah's promise is true. Whether We show them a part of the woeful consequences against which We warn them (while you are still in their midst) or We recall you (from this world) before that, eventually it is to Us that they shall be brought back. 77 Surely We have sent apostles before you, some of whose account We have related to you, and that of some We have not told you. But no apostle was given a miracle unless God dispensed. But when the decree of God comes the sentence is passed with justice; and the lovers of vice and vanity will then come to grief. 78
