ART THOU NOT aware of how far they who call God's messages in question have lost sight of the truth? 69 Those who denied the Book and what We sent with Our Noble Messengers; so they will soon come to know. – 70 when fetters will be placed around their necks and chains will drag them 71 into boiling water, then, into the Fire they shall be poured. 72 Then it will be said unto them: where are those whom ye have been associating? 73 Apart from God?" They will answer: "They have left us in the lurch and fled. In fact it was nothing that we prayed to before." That is how God sends the unbelievers astray. 74 [The angels will say], "That was because you used to exult upon the earth without right and you used to behave insolently. 75 Enter the gates of Gehenna, to dwell therein forever.' How evil is the lodging of those that are proud! 76 So persevere in patience; for the Promise of Allah is true: and whether We show thee (in this life) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (before that),-(in any case) it is to Us that they shall (all) return. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
