It is God who made the cattle for you so that some you ride and some you eat. 79 and for you there are other uses in them, and that upon them you may reach a need in your chests, and upon them and on ships you are carried. 80 And He shows you His Signs and Proofs (of His Oneness in all the above mentioned things). Which, then of the Signs and Proofs of Allah do you deny? 81 Have they not travelled in the earth so that they may behold what wise hath been the end of those before them. They were more numerous than these, and mightier in strength and the traces in the land. But naught availed them of that which they had been earning. 82 So when their Noble Messengers came to them with clear signs, they remained happy over the worldly knowledge they possessed, and upon them only reverted what they used to mock at! 83 But when they saw Our punishment, they said: We believe in Allah alone and we deny what we used to associate with Him. 84 But their professing the Faith when they (actually) saw Our Punishment was not going to profit them. (Such has been) Allah's Way of dealing with His Servants (from the most ancient times). And even thus did the Rejecters of Allah perish (utterly)! 85
