Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
