54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha-Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 good tidings to bear, and warning, but most of them have turned away, and do not give ear. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
