54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha, Meem. 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Those who give not the Zakat and they are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
