Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha Mim: 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "I am only a human being like you. It is inspired in me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God - Allah), therefore take Straight Path to Him (with true Faith Islamic Monotheism) and obedience to Him, and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe to Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc. - see V. 2:105). 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
