Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha'. Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
