Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
