54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

HaMeem. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 They say, "Our hearts are covered against and our ears are deaf to whatever you (Muhammad) invite us to. There is a barrier between us and you. So act as you please and we shall act as we please". 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8
