Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
