Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha Mim! 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
