In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HaMeem. 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 Surely those who believe, and do righteous deeds shall have a wage unfailing.' 8

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
